Knowing when to stop is a decision you make before you play, because the moment you are losing is the worst moment to make it. The footer of the BigBunny lobby carries a seal that reads Gambling can be addictive, know when to stop, and this page turns that line into rules you can set in five minutes. Read it once, write your three numbers down, and keep this page for the days you want to bend them. The full responsible play page is responsible gaming at BigBunny.

Why it is hard to know when to stop

Stopping is hard because the brain keeps score in the wrong currency. After a loss, the money already gone feels like a debt that one more session can repay, and that feeling has a name: the sunk cost fallacy. After a win, the pull runs the other way and the stake feels like house money.

Both pulls ignore the same fact. Every game has a built-in edge, which the glossary explains as the house edge and what it takes from each stake, so time spent adds to the expected cost rather than shrinking it.

PullWhat it tells youWhat is true
After a lossOne more session wins it backThe lost money is gone; the next spin is a fresh bet
After a winYou are on a streakEach spin is independent of the last
Near the end of a budgetA big hit is closeA near result pays nothing and predicts nothing
Late at nightYou are only a little behindTired play makes larger and faster bets

Three limits to set before you play

A limit works only when it is written before the session and measured in numbers. Three are enough: a budget, a time limit and a stop rule.

LimitWhat it isExample you can copy
BudgetThe amount you can lose without touching bills, savings or borrowed money₱500 for the week, kept apart from your wallet’s main balance
Time limitA session length set on a timer45 minutes, phone alarm on
Stop ruleThe result that ends the session at onceStop after losing the budget, or after doubling it

The figures above are examples to show the shape. Pick amounts that match your own income, and treat the budget as money you have already spent on entertainment.

  1. Write the three numbers down before you open the lobby.
  2. Move only the budget into the wallet you play from.
  3. Set the alarm before the first spin.
  4. When any limit is reached, close the browser tab and leave.

PAGCOR’s reminders on its responsible gaming page back this up: gambling is not a source of income, set time limits for each session, never borrow money or use all your resources, and do not chase your losses.

The maths behind a stop rule

A stop rule is easier to keep when you know what the numbers do. Three ideas explain most of it.

  1. Expected value. Every bet has an average outcome per peso staked, and for casino games it is negative. Working out expected value from a published return shows the sum on a slot and on a roulette bet.
  2. The law of large numbers. A published return describes millions of spins, so a short session is dominated by luck. Read why the law of large numbers does not make a slot due.
  3. Near misses. Two matching symbols and a third just off the line feel like progress. A near miss on a slot pays nothing and says nothing about the next spin.

A rule written against these ideas beats willpower in the moment. A fixed stop is also the cleanest answer to a requirement set by a promotion: read what a wagering requirement means before any offer persuades you to play past your limit.

Breaks: from a pause to a long exclusion

Stopping a session is one thing, and stepping away for longer is another. A short voluntary pause is a cooling-off period, and the page on a cooling off period against self exclusion shows how the two differ. Look in the account settings or ask the live chat to see what the lobby offers for a break.

If a pause is not enough, PAGCOR runs formal programmes, set out in the next section.

The help PAGCOR points to

PAGCOR’s pages on responsible gaming and player exclusion, read on 29 September 2026 and 1 October 2026, set out who may not gamble and what help exists.

Who may not gamble. PAGCOR lists all government officials and employees, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, persons under 21, persons listed in the National Database of Restricted Persons, and Gaming Employment License holders. The BigBunny lobby says 21 and above only.

Self exclusion. If you feel you are developing a problem, you can ask for an exclusion of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. The first six months are irrevocable, and the order lifts automatically when the period ends. The online self-exclusion application portal is www.osea.pagcor.ph.

Family exclusion. A spouse, a child or a parent can apply to exclude a loved one for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years.

ProgrammeWho appliesPeriodsCan it be undone
Self exclusionYou6 months, 1 year or 5 yearsNot in the first six months
Family exclusionA spouse, child or parent6 months, 1 year or 3 yearsLifts automatically at the end

PAGCOR also lists accredited help centres. Gamblers Anonymous Philippines gives the mobile number 0915 938 2808, and PAGCOR’s pages print an information line at (02) 8248-9568. The BigBunny lobby links to PAGCOR’s responsible-gaming page, the helpline and the self-exclusion portal from its footer and its opening notice.

Warning signs to act on

PAGCOR describes problem gambling as spending or betting more than you meant to, playing for longer than planned, and trying again and again to win back losses. It can lead to debt and missed bills, and to borrowing or selling belongings to keep playing.

If two or more of these sound familiar, do not wait for a bad week. Apply for an exclusion at the portal above, call a help centre, or tell someone you trust today.

FAQ

How do I know when to stop playing?

Decide before the first spin, not during the session. Fix a budget you can lose, a time limit and one stop rule such as walking away after a set loss or a set win. When any of the three is reached, the session is over.

What does the BigBunny lobby say about stopping?

The footer seal on the lobby reads Gambling can be addictive, know when to stop. The lobby also links to PAGCOR's responsible-gaming page, the helpline and PAGCOR's online self-exclusion portal.

Can I block myself from gambling in the Philippines?

Yes. PAGCOR runs a self exclusion programme with periods of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, and the first six months cannot be undone. A spouse, child or parent can apply for family exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years.

Who is not allowed to gamble under PAGCOR's rules?

PAGCOR's responsible gaming page lists government officials and employees, members of the AFP and the PNP, persons under 21, persons on the National Database of Restricted Persons and Gaming Employment License holders.

Is it okay to chase my losses to get back to even?

No. PAGCOR's own reminders say do not chase your losses, and the maths agrees: the next spin does not owe you anything. A loss is spent money, and more play does not refund it.
